Dengue: Community reveals premiums on Mosques

A suburb of the Filipino capital Manila has exposed a premium to mosquitoes – death or alive. Citizens receive a Filipino peso (0.016 euros) for five mosquitoes or mosquarters. Background: The Municipal Council of Addition Hills wants to contain the distribution of the dangerous docking fever.

“The citizens like to collect the mosquitoes and larvae,” said Carmelita Gonzales, an employee of the city council, the German news agency. However, it is even more important to increase consciousness of the need to keep your environment clean to combat the disease.

The “May Piso Sa Mosquito” campaign (there are pesos in mosquitoes) must be performed as long as there are knucky fever.

Warning for “Cobra Effect”
Local media warned that there could be a Cobra effect. This means the phenomenon that a measure of the assumed solution of a problem is even worse. “Instead of hunting mosquitoes and their larvae and their habitat, some unscrupulous people could breed them against a large sum of money,” wrote the newspaper “Inquirer”.
