Prediction reserved – Pope awake and fever – free, but needs oxygen

Date:

Pope Franciscus suffered two breathing crises again on Monday (see video above). Now his state is “stable” again according to the Vatican. The Pontifex was awake and free of fever, said it on Tuesday evening. Nevertheless, oxygen had to be administered again.

The pope was subjected to breathing physiotherapy on Tuesday, the Vatican said. In the night of Wednesday he must continue to receive “non-invasive mechanical ventilation”. The prediction remains reserved.

In the morning the Vatican said that Francis’s situation was stable but was still “complex”. He is still not out of life. In the Gemelli clinic in Rome, two bronchoscopies had to be performed recently to suck off secretions. The non-invasive mechanical ventilation was then resumed.

19 days in the hospital
The care for the pope, who had already suffered a respiratory crisis on Friday, remains great. It has been to the Gemelli clinic in Rome for 19 days, as long as never before during his almost twelve years. It is treated for pneumonia on both sides. He has not been seen in public since his briefing.

Believers regularly pray for the sick pope. On Tuesday evening, many people gathered at St. Peter’s Square for the regular Rosary. Another high -ranking church representative of prayer is every evening.
