The flu wave in the country just doesn’t want to lose weight. As the Meduni Vienna explained on Monday, the number of influenza infections in Austria is still constantly high. This suggests an “extensive plateau phase”.
Only a week ago the Center for Virology in Meduni/AKH Vienna, as a national reference laboratory for influenza, announced that the highlight of the flu wave was exceeded.
Since then, the decline in the infection has been lifted. Persistent infection is to be expected.
Fail to infection throughout Europe
Also in the rest of Europe, the “real flu” has reached a plateau phase in most regions. In some countries such as Italy, France and Spain, the activity also drops. In general, however, there is still a high influenza virus activity in Europe.
