A particularly tragic accident happened on Monday morning on the B 111 Gailtalstraße in Carinthia. An employee (51) of Hermagor’s Road Maintenance Department was hit by a small truck and fatally injured. The 51-year-old man is said to have saved someone’s life last weekend.
Shortly before St. Paul im Gailtal, the road worker was walking from the Hermagor district on the right side of the road at about 8:00 am when he was suddenly hit by the small truck of a 43-year-old Bosnian resident of Wolfsberg. The driver probably overlooked the man. The road worker was thrown over the slope by the impact and was fatally injured.
Participation in state politics
The 51-year-old Hermagor road maintenance worker is said to have saved someone’s life over the weekend as part of an allergic shock. Governor Peter Kaiser and road construction consultant Martin Gruber were also shocked by the fatal accident and expressed their condolences to the bereaved families. An alcohol mat test performed on the driver was negative. An investigation is underway into the course of the accident.
