Wild “rest” – nurse would have injected nine patients

Date:

A former German caregiver is said to have injected several patients because he wanted to rest with his night shifts. The 44-year-old is accused of nine murders and 34 attempts to murder.

As the “Aachener Zeitung” reported, the caretaker would have injected overdoses of pain or sedativa into his victims in the Rhein-Maas clinic in Würelen near Aachen (North Rhine-Westfalen).

Case flew in 2024
When he was on vacation in 2024, the clinic management noticed “irregularities”, the employee was banned from the house, the police inquired. The Kripo then arrested the caregiver in mid -July 2024, he came into custody. The office of the public prosecutor took the investigation into the claim of various attempted murders “as part of his work as a nurse”. According to the information at that time, the German had been working for several years – and until the beginning of May 2024 – on the palliative care unit of the clinic.

In some patients he probably tried it several times
The public prosecutor assumes the murder of low motives. As a motive, she assumes that the German wanted quiet night shifts and little trouble with the patients. In some patients, the nurse would have made different attempts to kill them. It is said that he committed all the acts between December 2023 and May 2024.

The trial against the man is planned to start on March 24 in the Aachen court.
