Not far from Lampedusa, patrol boats from the Italian coast guard saved ten migrants on Tuesday evening and recovered six corpses. These were on board a damaged rubber boat, as Italian media reported.
The migration flows from North Africa to Italy, has increased again since the beginning of 2025. 8476 people arrived in Italy after seafaring on the Mediterranean, and the Ministry of the Interior said in Rome in the comparison period in 2024.
The ten shipwreck reported that they broke out on Sunday evening in a rubber boat from Sfax. According to the information, 56 people were on board. After less than 24 hours, while they were in international waters, different migrants would have fallen into the water – possibly because of the rough sea.
Boot continued after accident
The inflatable boat, however, continued and reached the island of Lampione. The missing person is still looking for it. The six corpses of young men were brought to the Lichenhalle of Lampedusa.
