After the meeting that the negotiating table has held, Ela confirmed that the text “is still far from acceptable” and Lab believes that “it does not respond to the needs of high -quality public education.”
The Ministry of Education of the Basque government has submitted a new proposal to update the agreements with the syndicates of the sector, at the negotiating table that both parties brought together this Wednesday. As reported by education, the new proposal includes salary improvements for teachers, reducing educational guides, strengthening complementary resources and a personnel rejuvenation plan.
It has also asked the trade unions to strike the strike, something that the trade unions are not willing to do at the moment. Ela has stated in a comment that the text is “still far from acceptable”. For its part, Lab ensures that “concretions are missing and not responding to the needs of a high -quality public education.”
The proposal of the Basque government arrives a day after the laboratory, steep, ELA and CCOO trade unions have registered the strike, the teaching staff and the kitchen and cleaning collective for 25, 26 and 27 March and 2 April, which gives continuity to the mobilisations initiated in January.
In a press release, the Ministry of Education confirms that the new proposal “clear and determined the most important claims” of public education trade unions, although it has acknowledged that “there are awaiting aspects to specify.” He added that the negotiations “continue to improve” and that both parties “have” demonstrated their willingness to perform in the coming days how many negotiating tables are needed until an agreement is reached. ”
