The condition of the sick pope, who has been in the hospital for more than a month, continues to improve. He was no longer mechanically ventilated and the oxygen supply was also reduced, the Vatican said.

Progress was also reported on physiotherapy and respiratory exercises on Wednesday evening. Francis has been in the Gemelli clinic in Rome since 14 February. He is treated for bilateral pneumonia. The 88-year-old had to be mechanically ventilated for a while.

Meeting King Charles?
Italian media reported that Francis on April 8 King Charles III. And Queen Camilla could meet each other who announced a visit to Rome. The conversation should be about environmental protection and sustainable development, since the prince has been involved in this area for many years.

The Vatican has not yet confirmed such a meeting, but also announces state visits a few days before the appointment. Together with the Pope, Charles and Camilla would plan to participate in a party in the Sixtine Chapel.
