Served money – Many countries are in danger of collapsing due to tuberculosis

Date:

The drastic slump in development aid instructions threatens the success in the fight against the most fatal contagious disease in the world. According to the World Health Organization that 1.5 million people die of tuberculosis (TB).

TB pathogens spread by air particles from infected. Infection can be prevented and can be cured if they are recognized and treated, Robert Koch-Institut (RKI) that is responsible in Germany. According to estimates, a quarter of the world’s population is infected with the TB disease salver. However, the infection shows no symptoms for most and cannot be transferred. Five percent develops an active TB.

Due to global mobility, this is a danger to all countries, warning health experts. The United States frozen, among other things, billions of dollars frozen over different aid money. But other countries such as Great Britain 2025 and Germany 2024 have also announced savings in development aid. 79 million human lives have been saved by early diagnosis and treatment since 2000, but without any further money it looks dark for the poorest countries, the WHO reported on the World Tunculosis Day on Monday.

Money is missing
The WHO warns a collapse of the TB programs in 27 countries. There, fewer people could be tested there without the funds from abroad, fewer cases can be recognized and treated and the distribution could be checked. This turns on more people, according to the WHO. Nine countries already have problems obtaining medication. Taking care of the money does not only exist since this year. Already in 2023, only a quarter of the funds of $ 22 billion (around 20 billion euros) that are needed for the TB check was available available in 2023.
