The trade union defends a “autonomous and confrontation trade union model” and bets on social mobilization in the light of “self -governmenterosion.”
Ela will celebrate his XVI Conferress on 2 and 3 June, where Mitxel Lakuntza will be elected as general secretary of the Union and benefits from this congress debate on the Basque field of employment relationships, the status of Basque, national recognition and the right to decide.
The Trade Union Central has presented this congress in Bilbao, which will be held in the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, under the motto ‘Langileria Antolatu, Giartea Eraldatu‘(Organize the working class, transform society). A total of 736 delegates and representatives will discuss the management report that will be presented by the Executive Committee and the presentation that will define the master lines for the trade union work for the next four years.
In the appearance of the congress, the Secretary General of Ela, Mitxel Lakuntza, the deputy general secretary, Amaia Muñoa; The communication manager, Iván Giménez, and the organizational head, Leire Txakartegi.
Lakuntza leads the proposal from the Executive Committee and will therefore be re -elected, as soon as the National Committee has proposed the list of people and functions that will be voted in the congress.
In particular, the access of three new people in the Executive Committee, that of Ane Bilbao Alzelai for legal services is presented; Unai Oñederra, for training, iParraldea and sovereign strategy, and Luis Fernández Centeno, for the area of trade union, militancy and confederal actions.
Mitxel Lakuntza has emphasized that Ela is confronted with the XVI congress “of firmness and cohesion” of the majority union in this country, with more than 104,000 affiliated companies and affiliated companies, and with a representation in Euskadi that exceeds 40%.
As he said, Ela will strengthen his identity signals and his ‘autonomous and confrontation trade vocational model’. “Confrontation capacity is power; power to perform mobilizations and to increase strikes. There is a reality that the employer or the government does not like, but cannot be hidden; more strikes have concluded better similarities.” As far as laboratory relationships are concerned, he stated that, although the differences are “structural”, there will be times when you can work together, such as in the SMI issue.
Ela’s goal is to organize the working class as an ‘active agent and transforming to achieve a more just society’. ‘More Union, More Life’ is the second part of the motto that Ela has chosen for this four -year appointment.
