A dramatic incident took place on the Wörthersee ship “Carinthia” on Tuesday afternoon. A passenger had a heart attack. The ship’s captain responded correctly and began CPR measures.
Shortly before Maria Wörth, the passenger suddenly had a heart attack. “The captain of the ship responded immediately and started resuscitation measures,” said Franz Huditz, director of Wörthersee Schifffahrt.
Every ship has a defibrillator on board
A doctor was also on board the ship and assisted the captain in resuscitating the man. “We then managed to resuscitate the man with the help of a defibrillator,” Huditz said in an interview with “Krone.” “Fortunately, we have a defibrillator on all our ships.”
After the passenger had stabilized, the ship docked in Maria Wörth and the man was handed over to the rescue team.
