A fire broke out in a barn in Kirchfidisch (Burgenland) on Sunday around 1 o’clock in the morning. The fire brigade was able to prevent worse with a large contingent. Nobody was injured, but the material damage is considerable.
“The building was in full fire within a few minutes,” reported the Fire Brigade Command Oberwart district. Seven fire brigades with a total of 100 emergency services and 17 vehicles and the Red Cross and the police moved.
The extinguishing work was a challenge because of the strong smoke development and had to be partially performed under heavy respiratory protection.
The rapid intervention of the fire brigade prevented the flames from spreading. Around 3:30 am it was finally called “Fire”. In the building there were a tractor and agricultural device at the time of the fire. The rose was destroyed. The cause of the fire is the subject of police investigation.
