10 euros per cubic meter – Woman has been fighting for years against expensive water

Date:

Bianca E. has been in conflict for them because of completely opaque drinking water bills with a cooperative, municipality and authorities. However, she flashed on the field. Although she and the cooperative would even have been preferred against costs, she wants to continue to fight against the “injustice”.

It all started that Bianca E. bought a house years ago in the city of Rabenhof in the municipality of Sallingberg in the Zwettl district.

The water cooperative was compensated in 2021 – for 72 cubic meters of free quantity, it has to pay 400 euros, which corresponds to 5.56 euros per cubic meter. She investigated the water cooperative and the community, but only received scarce and insufficient information for her. When the invoice then grew to 700 euros in the past two years – that is 9.72 euros per cubic meter – it rose to the barricades.

Correctly calculated?
The background: The water cooperative had to renovate 60 -year management for the renewal of the passage. Bianca E. is firmly convinced that the cooperative has paid costs for road construction, extinguishing water pipe including hydrants and other things and the costs are now passed on. In 2023 she showed the mayor for abuse of office, complained to the authority and after removal went to the administrative court of the state – she was not right anywhere.

Less charged due to hardness
She wants to keep fighting “against injustice”. The assumptions of the woman are wrong, the municipality answers. Due to the special hardness, the cooperative would have been less than 10 percent of the total share.
