Moun moans, because the renovation of the A12 Innal Autobahn between Hall-West and Innsbruck-East makes it a daily lottery when you arrive at work or an appointment. Asfinag emphasizes the optimized planning that alternatives are scarce.
The average traffic on the Innsbruck-East consists of around 75,000 vehicles. “Even without a construction site there was no unusual for the commuters on the shuttle point times to cotton wool,” admits ASFINAG spokesperson Alexander Holzedl.
Different projects at the same time
A large construction site has in the 3.5 km long part to Hall-West in the 3.5 km long section. On both directional jobs, Asfinag renews the road and the entire drainage, renovates the bridges and builds sound protection in the reinforcement area.
The busy junction Innsbruck-East is also being renovated. The transfer bridge near the Peerhöfen came from 1968. As reported, it was removed in a nightly campaign.
Daily fear of commuters to Innsbruck
“Unfortunately I need my car at work in Innsbruck,” a commuter from Tyroolean Unterland. Listening to the traffic reports at 7 am is now the first in his morning routine. Half an hour delay is not uncommon.
Ashinag: Always two tracks per direction
Asfinag emphasizes: “We have responded in the planning on the dreaded handicaps, no traces are blocked – there are still two tracks open per direction.” With the provisional road widths, the limit of the possible one had reached, the signage was optimized.
Only completion in April 2026
To keep the load as low as possible, Asfinag took all the work mentioned in a large project. However, this is not completed until April 2026, ie in twelve months! The total costs of the Autobahn -Bouwplaats are estimated at around 20 million euros.
