The Basque government has asked the Bridgestone address a meeting and works to “limit” the “template adjustment”.
The strike announced by the trade unions in rejection of the dismissals announced in the Bridgestone factory in Basauri, starts on 7 April and ends on 31 May, as reported by trade union sources.
Bridgestone announced yesterday to the trade unions to dismiss 335 employees from his Basauri factory (Bizkaia) and another 211 employees of the San Miguel Bridge Factory (Cantabria).
The honor of the Japanese multinational tire manufacturer will therefore influence around 40 % of the Basauri semplate, which currently has 831 employees, and half of the Cantabria factory (418).
CC trade unions. Oo., UGT, Ela and Bup registered the strike at the Bizkaia Labor delegation. In principle, the strike called its final date on 31 May and the period of consultations of the honorary coverage, which after the beginning yesterday with the notification by the company of the dismissals it increases, will last 30 days, an expandable another 15.
The idea, as explained by sources of the trade union, is that the strikes in the plants of Basauri and Puente San Miguel are performed in coincidental dates.
In any case, if the case was given that the company was in the honor and decided to negotiate other options, “would postpone the strike during the time that the negotiations last.”
At the moment there is no fixed date for a coming meeting between the trade unions and the management of the company.
