In Baden (Lower Austria) there was a dramatic fire in an apartment where an older lady was taken to the hospital. The exact origin of the fire initially remained unclear. The fire brigade was only warned on Friday afternoon when the fire had already gone out. But the traces clearly led to the kitchen …
According to the Fire Brigade, the fire would have broken out at night. At the time of the investigation, it could not be clarified whether it was expired due to a lack of oxygen itself or was removed by an external intervention. There were clear traces of fire gases in the apartment in all rooms.
Cats from Smoky apartment saved
The salvation of two cats, which was in the heavy smoky apartment, was particularly dramatic. With the help of a thermal image camera, the fire brigade discovered the animals, offered oxygen and then brought them to the shelter. From there they were transferred to a veterinary clinic.
The apartment itself was considerably damaged by the fire and was initially uninhabitable. The fire brigade then carried out security work to minimize the dangers. The resident had to be taken to the hospital for a check -up.
