The mouth and mouth disease drives cruel flowers. Because thousands killed in Hungary is simply buried in a mass grave. One of these graves is in Hegyeshalom/Csemezanya. The community is only eight kilometers from Nickelsdorf.
The carcasses fermented in their grave. They were covered from a layer of straw, lime and earth. Nevertheless, you can even see at first glance that something is wrong, such as a Hungarian video on Facebook shows – you can find the video here.
Dubious? Yes. Especially when you consider that the juices that are released during the decomposition, seep into the ground and also enter the groundwater.
The question that arises: have the possible viruses of the mouth and claw disease transferred to the ground and do they also go into groundwater? The dead cattle has disappeared from the stage, but is the dangerous plague not spread further? Because if you read, you will find out that the virus can survive in food and waste water for a maximum of 15 weeks, even for several years in frozen meat …
Residents move drinking water from fountains
The inhabitants of Hegyeshalom are absolutely scared. Because they obtain their drinking water from their own fountain. The government has now promised them to be connected to the water pipe.
The mayor of the adjacent Nickelsdorf community about Hungarian, Laszlo Szöke, also defends himself against the type of freight removal of the state. He wrote an open letter to Viktor Orbán and also warned the Hungarian health authority that groundwater is only five to ten meters below the dead cattle.
Nickelsdorf Mayor involved
Even Gerhard Zapfl, the mayor of Nickelsdorf does not understand how such a thing can still happen in Europe. “I think it is outrageous that the Hungarian state allows something like that,” he shakes his head.
A letter is also in circulation, but you don’t know who wrote or sent it. The letter shows that this is irresponsible and both the nearby Kleylhof, which is just two kilometers from the mass grave, can be influenced, as well as the Nova Rock area.
From the municipality of Nickelsdorf you try to calm people a bit. “The background of the letter is correct, all authorities are informed, including our water Pipe Association (WLV). I did everything on Tuesday,” explains Mayor Zapfl. “According to WLV, the grave has no effect on our fountain because the groundwater stream goes in the other direction.” According to Zapfl, the case is already at the level of the ministries in Vienna. No action would be needed for the community itself. Moreover, the message is without sender. It locates panic.
So far so good. But also when the groundwater flow “goes in the other direction”. People whose water can be polluted because of this. Do you care? Not really. Poor enough that Orbán doesn’t care – he hopes that grass will grow so quickly if it will bring the layer about the mass grave.
