Former concentration camp secretary Irmgard F. died at the age of 99. This was confirmed by the court and the Itzehoe public prosecutor in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein on Monday. In 2022 she was convicted of help for mass murder in more than 10,000 cases.
As the “mirror” reported, F. died according to a spokesperson for the public prosecutor on January 14, 2025.
Irmgard F. was probably the last person who was guilty of a German court for Nazi crimes. Due to the help of murder in more than 10,000 cases, she was sentenced to probation on December 20, 2022 – two years.
In the spectacular process for the Itzehoe District Court, F. had nothing to comment on the allegations. Only recently did she say: “I am sorry what happened. And I am sorry that I was in Stutthof at that time. I can’t say anymore.”
Judgment confirmed in the previous year
F. was not proven to have a direct participation in mass destruction. But with her work she maintained the concentration camp. The correspondence between different concentration camps would have gone through her desk, it is said that the deportation lists for trains to Auschwitz gave up and ordered material for the production of the poison gascyclone B. At the start of her work she was 18 years old. In August 2024, the Federal Court of Justice confirmed the judgment.
The test against F. had caused a sensation internationally because of the old Day of the accused. He had also asked questions about whether extensive tests against alleged Nazi helpers were proportional to the crime without direct participation.
