Serbian students have now also supported their protest against the government in Belgrade to Austria. Because a group of dozens of protesters who started in Novi Sad four days ago and want to cycle to Strasbourg, arrived in Vienna on Monday evening. There they were enthusiastically received by representatives from the Serbian Diaspora.
Hours before their arrival, about 2,000 Serbs – not only in Austria, but also specially traveled – waited for their “heroes” who fight against the government of Aleksandar Vučić. With almost four hours of delay, the 80 students arrived at 9.15 pm in Maria-Theresien-Platz. and were celebrated by the Serbian Diaspora in Vienna as Olympic champion. At the finish, cyclists fell into their arms and raised their racing bikes. There were even documents and medals for the successfully completed fifth phase on the way to the European capital Strasbourg.
“Tens of thousands of people want to return to Serbia on one condition: that something is changing in Serbia,” said 19-year-old Petar after arrival. “For this reason we are on our way to Strasbourg and we will bring about the change.” Above all, he expects one thing from Austria and Europe: “Let Vučić fall.
