Due to the poultry test, many millions of laying hens had to be killed in recent months. No or very expensive strange eggs
Wholesalers who had previously provided domestic gastronomy with “cheaper strange eggs” would currently receive “no or only very expensive eggs” abroad. “As a result, hosters switch to the food trade when buying,” said Schlögl.
Austrians eat more eggs
