A larger water pipe break in Innsbruck is currently making greater use of the Fire Brigade and the competent Innsbruck Municipal Company (IKB). As you say at the request of the “Krone”, around 100 households are affected.
A water pipe break in Innsbruck may have caused more damage. In the area of Mariahilfstraße 1 in the parish, real water currents came in the early afternoon.
“We are currently determining the damage. The drinking water supply had to be interrupted, the repairs are expected to take until the night,” says the IKB.
Big hole in the asphalt
The dimensions of the damage are probably great. A vase was washed off in an adjacent café because of the water. In the asphalt there was a huge gap in which the vase was torn (see photo gallery above). Countless spectators pulled their mobile phones and documented this.
Drinking bottles for residents
In the meantime, residents who are affected drinking water bottles can pick up from the IKB team on site in the area of the parish of Mariahilf. The street itself was briefly closed in both directions. In the meantime, both tracks are again accessible. On the IKB website there are continuous updates for work or the water supply.
