Ex -prisoner accused – hole in cell: “would have broken off the wall”

Date:

In various places a Tunisian cell walls vibrated in the Graz-Karlau prison. The 27-year-old explains in court. His work as a “mole” will probably bring the man who was now released behind Rasters.

A 27-year-old Tunisian has already been in prison sentence in Karlau, but on Friday he was now justified due to incidents during this time in May and June of the previous year. Only after his release did the five -time man leave different holes in cell walls.

First of all there would be the attempt to dig “something like a window” to his cell neighbor. He had psychological problems and did not want to be alone, especially at night, according to the explanation. The neighbor – he “attacked” on his side – has already been convicted of this and was given ten extra months.

But apparently the Tunisian was not only about mental support for his colleague, he had further extension work in mind: slightly less than a month later he tried to dig through the ceiling in a Hoffee underneath in another cell. He is said, among other things, that he used a table leg. And: he also tackled the outside wall in the same cell.

Escape ambitions do not play a role
Right Hanpeter Draxler explained whether his attempts to explain and the statement, he did not want to break out at all: “The reason today does not matter. Whether they wanted to flee or not: it is about serious damage to property.” The actual damage is limited, but prison walls belong to the so -called critical infrastructure.

Another attempt to justify the Tunisian does not help: “A month later they would have torn the wall,” says the man, and the current renovation work in the largest styric prison should mean.

“I apologize for the damage I have caused. I really want to start a new life now,” concludes the accused. However, it will probably take some time: given his history, the judge condemns him to a year in prison. The Tunisian is clearly not very satisfied with the judgment and records an appeal – the decision is therefore not legally binding.
