He just won’t give up: A 26-year-old Russian held in Graz has now tried to escape for the third time. Twice he drilled a hole in the prison wall, now he wanted to escape after hospital treatment.
The Russian knows how to make headlines: twice, together with fellow inmates, he drilled a hole in the walls of the Graz-Karlau prison and abseiled down into the prison square. However, the escape lasted only a few minutes and then the runaways were back in their cells.
Towering at Raucher’s Corner
Now the 26-year-old’s third attempt: in a brawl at Jakomini prison, where he has now been transferred, the violent criminal, who had already had multiple convictions, injured himself. He was therefore treated at Graz State Hospital on Tuesday.
He waited with two prison guards at a smoking corner to be transported back. Then the 26-year-old suddenly knocked over one of them and started sprinting. The end of the line was in front of a construction site grid as the prison guards knocked him down. The two officers suffered injuries as a result of the resistance, but the escape was again successfully thwarted.
