After the hacker group “Black Cat” paralyzed the IT of the Carinthian state government on May 24, the investigations are still in full swing. There is now a 38 page report.
“The forensic report is being used for further investigation,” state spokesman Gerd Kurath said Friday. In addition, the report is hugely important for ramping up state IT. The 38-page report also includes the progress of the hacker attack.
Criticism is rejected
Time and again there was criticism that the state did not order Carinthian companies to repair the damage. “That is not true. We work together with local companies and international companies,” says Kurath. 100 of the 136 systems have now been started. In the next two weeks, the internet should also work in the state government again.
Still no insight into the loot
The hacker group “Black Cat” is said to have stolen a total of 250 gigabytes of data from the country’s servers. “But we have no direct insight into the loot of the perpetrators,” says Kurath.
Cost of attack unknown
The state has already made 500,000 euros available to repair the damage. But how much the attack actually costs cannot yet be quantified.
