Brazilian ex-president Jair Bolsonaro (70), who was taken to a hospital on Friday, was taken to the capital Brasília, where he is being operated on “probably”.
The 70-year-old left the hospital in Natal in the northeastern state Rio Grande do Norte in the early evening (local time).
Bolsonaro came out of the building on foot and with a nasal probe, reported an AFP video journalist. Before he entered the ambulance, he welcomed several dozen supporters who had gathered for the clinic and called “courage, Bolsonaro”.
Perhaps further operation according to Mes attack 2018
According to Bolsonaro, the pain is related to a knife attack during an election campaign event in 2018. A man had attacked Bolsonaro and wounded her stomach with a knife. In recent years, Bolsonaro, who was president was from 2019 to 2022, had to be operated on several times.
According to his doctor Claudio Birolini, Bolsonaro has been in the “worst condition” since the 2018 knife attack. However, the immediate effect was not necessary.
“Get used to pain”
“After I have had so many attacks in recent years, I was used to the pain. But this time even the doctors were surprised,” said Bolsonaro. He added that he was “in a stable state” and was “on his way of improvement”.
