A tractor crash tore a gap in the life of the Hettegger Mountain Farmer: the father died in the accident. He leaves four children, a woman and an uncertain future.
March 7, 2025 the life of the Hettegger family in St. Johann Radikal changed. Father Sepp died tragically with his tractor on his own farm. One of the four sons was first aid and experienced the last breath up close. His wife was added a few minutes later. A tragedy took place on the mountain farm. Despite rapid help, Sepp succumbed to the injuries due to salvation, emergency helicopter and fire brigade on the scene of the accident.
Father wanted to heal, now he is being missing forever
Now the family is confronted with an uncertain future. Agriculture must be operated. Two of the four children are still going to school. The now widow Birgit Hettegger said to the “Krone”: “I am only more in survival mode. We are currently working somehow, but in the long term I do not know how to continue.”
Father Sepp, known and appreciated in the village, actually wanted to heal. Because the family has had difficult times. Sepp almost died in 2012 when he fell off the roof. The son almost lost his hand. Last year, a Mure Het Hetegers house met en masse.
“We still had the shock of the storm in the bones – and now,” said Birgit Hettegger in an interview with tears in his eyes.
The tragic fate of the St. Johanner family does not leave the “Krone” Family Cold: a fundraising was launched to alleviate the financial worries.
