Pilot (76) accident – Has a crochet rope crash surface?

Date:

A technical problem may have caused the fatal accident of the experienced pilot Georg Kienesberger (76) near St. Pölten.

The shock and the grief are deep after the tragedy last Wednesday in the Völtendorf airport near St. Pölten. A few days later, more and more details about the drama about the crash of the long -term flight instructor Georg Kienesberger are discussed. As reported, the 76-year-old with his plane crashed with a wind protection belt at the runway and died on the scene of the accident.

Seil did not throw away
Kienesberger was a pilot of a towing planter that helps gliders in the air. These are pulled with a tow cable until they are worn through the thermal and fly without rope. Normally the pilot of the motor peel then throws the rope down and returns to the runway.

In the case of Kienesberger, however, the rope was still on the plane when he hit the trees and, according to the current studies, should have been entangled in the branches, which the Dynamic WT9 600 should have hit the floor and then rose in flames. However, surveys by the Flight Accident Commission have not yet been completed.

Kienesberger, who fully worked as a flight instructor, was considered one of the most experienced pilots at the airport, with thousands of landings and starts, as well as countless flying hours. He passed his knowledge to his many fleet students.
