Just a few days after a fatal incident involving cows on a mountain pasture in Salzburg, another serious accident involving cattle occurred in Tyrol on Friday. A German (59) was seriously injured while hiking in the Ötztal.
Shortly before 1 p.m., the 59-year-old German was walking in the Timmelsjochstrasse area in Gurgl (Imst district) when he was suddenly attacked by a cow.
Flew to the clinic in Innsbruck
The man was seriously injured in the attack. “After receiving first aid, the hiker was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by the Martin 8 medical emergency helicopter,” police said.
Deadly attack in Salzburg
A week ago on Wednesday, a 40-year-old local woman was killed by a herd of cows in the Schlossalm area (municipality of Bad Hofgastein). The woman was walking with her two daughters (20 and 23 years old) and two small dogs on the afternoon of her birthday when they were attacked by the animals.
