For a serious traffic accident with a captured person, the emergency services were called on the night of Easter Sunday to go badly. A 26-year-old lost control of his car in a roundabout and crashed into a supermarket. The steering wheel had to be freed from the wreck.
Shortly after 4 o’clock in the morning, the emergency services of the fire brigade in Bad Goisern and Sankt Agatha, Easter Sunday started with an alarm. A car had strayed from the road in the area of the roundabout on the B145 and crashed on the building of a retail market. The vehicle was enormously distorted both in the front and the roof area and the 26-year-old local driver was caught in the wreck. A neighbor was woken up by the noise and informed the emergency services.
Different hydraulic devices in use
The firefighters had to use a total of three hydraulic rescue devices with spreads, scissors, rescue cylinders and pedal cutters, as well as a saber saw to free the wounded from the accident wreck. The seriously injured was finally transferred to the emergency doctor and emergency services present and taken to the hospital in Bad Ischl.
The wreck was then restored with the help of a fire station. There was also a lot of damage to the shop market, a destroyed glass element had to be temporarily replaced by the fire brigade with wooden planks. An alkotest with the 26-year-old was not possible because of his serious injuries.
