A cozy barbecue in Kössen in Tyrol ended with serious injuries on Wednesday evening. For reasons still unknown, a violent explosion occurred near the grill. Two men had to be taken to hospital.
At around 8 p.m., a witness heard the loud bang and set the rescue chain in motion. “For unknown reasons, a violent explosion occurred on the terrace of a residential building in Kössen after a barbecue near an electric/gas barbecue,” police said. Two local residents (40, 43) were seriously injured.
Taken to hospitals
After first aid, the 40-year-old was flown to the accident hospital in Salzburg by emergency doctor helicopter. The three-year-old man had to be taken by ambulance to the district hospital in St. Johann in Tirol. “The damage to the building is unknown at this time,” police said. The cause of the fire is now being investigated.
