In the center of Alberschwende a serious accident with two cars involved took place on Sunday evening. Four people were injured, two of them seriously.
The exact cause of the accident is still in the dark, but one gamble is clear: the two vehicles may have been on the road at high speed, possibly it was an illegal car race that the police did not want to confirm on the request “Krone”. According to witnesses, it is said that the cars are killed by the local area with more than 100 km/h and caught up with each other.
Crashed into the chapel
An abrupt end then took the journey at the entrance of Alberschwende: the steering wheel of the first car had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the historic Wendelinkapelle. On the impact, the engine block was pushed about one meter into the vehicle, steering wheel and front passenger suffered serious injury and two other passengers also bore injuries. Part of the car also hit the window of a nearby butcher’s shop.
Torment
The second car came about 150 meters away. The occupants were unharmed, but were noticeably shock. Subsequently, a group of young men – apparently from the personal environment of the accident – gathered on the scene of the accident, the mood was heated accordingly.
The L200 had to be closed for about two hours for the duration of the rescue and the cleaning up, a judicial expert was entrusted to the cause investigation.
