“Each judgment must be written within four weeks from the day of the announcement and signed by the chairman,” says paragraph 270 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The Supreme Court (OGH), however, leaves this in the endless procedure for ex-financing minister Karl-Heinz Grasser.
On Tuesday, March 25, the chairman of the Senate of the judge confirmed the judgments against Grasser and Co. And announced the penalty heights, which are now final: four years in prison for unfaithfulness and acceptance in the Causen Buwog and Terminal Tower Linz. The Supreme Court thus achieved the sentence by the first court and justified this with the disproportionately long procedure of almost 16 years.
After copying 30 days before the start of the prison
But now the highest court itself awaits Grasser. Because the start of the prison must take place within 30 days of the decision. However, this has not yet been delivered to the convicted person because his lawyer Manfred Ainedter confirms the “Krone”. Even with the previous FPö -General Secretary Walter Meischberger sentenced to three and a half years, the written judgment was not received within four weeks.
“It is incomprehensible that the OGH, who criticized the duration of the procedure, did not judge the judgment on time,” Meischberger Michael Dohr’s lawyer is surprised.

The adopted deadline has no consequences – delays remain without sanctions, even if they do not make a slim foot. “The verdict is already in the writing department and will be completed in the office, ie at the end of the month or early May,” assures a spokeswoman for OGH.
Then the waiting for Grasser and Meischberger ends and the service of prison conditions for the unfaithfulness of Buwog Sale will start in 2004 in mid -2025.
