It is already the 13th execution in the United States this year: the life of a convicted murderer ended on Wednesday in the US state of Texas. The man killed a young mother more than 20 years ago after she had sexually attacked her.
The death sentence against the 41-year-old Moises Sandoval Mendoza was executed on Wednesday in the prison of the city of Huntsville, such as the attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, announced. Mendoza had received a poison injection.
Young mother killed
In his last words, the 41-year-old apologized to the family of the murdered, especially with her daughter. In March 2004 the man attacked sexually and killed the then 20-year-old Rachelle O’Neil Tolleson. Then he burned her body a few days later in a remote field. According to media reports, her murderer knew since school.
At the time, Tolleson had a five -month -old daughter who left Mendoza. The grandmother found the child the next day, it was wet and hypotherm, but in safety.
Wanted to prevent the death penalty
The Mendoza confession was sentenced to death. He tried in vain to have the death penalty converted into a life sentence. On Wednesday, the American Supreme Court rejected a request from the convicted murderer to block the execution.
“He felt no pain”
Tolleson relatives also came to implementation. Tolleson’s daughter was not there. “He was in the Death Wing for 20 years. That ended today,” said the mother of the murdered, Pam O’Neil, after the execution. “He felt no pain. I wish I could say the same about the death of my daughter.”
13 people have already been executed in the United States this year. US President Donald Trump is in favor of the death penalty.
