Since the merger of the regional health insurance companies for the Austrian health insurance (ÖGK), the former branch in Lungau in Salzburg has been empty. The locals are surprised: “That causes costs!” Critics also fear that the building will expire. The subsequent use is unclear, the sale threatens.
In the past, the Regional Health Insurance Company Salzburg at Dental Health Center, Administration and Chief Arts was in the building on the Bröllsteig in Tamsweg. Apartments were also in the house. With the merger of the money five years ago, the branch then moved to the local hospital. Since then, the building has been unused and it has now been an ugly view with a delineational fence and far from the current Kassa logo.
“It rotates and causes costs that the Ögk has to bear despite the vacancy,” says a local shaking. This is more than irresponsible, especially in times of a expired cash budget. If the house is empty, the building material is lost, according to its worries.
Mayor wants to prevent vacancy in the long term
The mayor of Tamsweg, Wolfgang Pfeifenberger (ÖVP): “The house belongs to the Ögk. We only have a limited influence on it.” In any case, a vacancy can be prevented in the long term.
The health insurance fund (ÖGK) in Vienna states: “The property in question is one of the few objects without active use.” The future including possible evaluations is currently being investigated.
Concepts for reuse are too expensive
The Salzburg Ögk chairman Thom Kienberger wants to prevent this. “It is a real estate that was paid by the insured Salzburg.” Concepts for the future, such as a courtyard of the mother-child, were at the table, but landed in the drawer of the budget deficiency. Kienberger: “If there is a sale, we call for a goal for the insured community of Salzburg.”
