Stromchaos in Europe -Mysterious Black -Outs also in Great -Britain

Date:

On Monday there was a mega electricity loss in Spain, Portugal and southern France, but unusual activities of the current frequency were also found hours earlier in Great Britain. The British Electricity Network operator is now investigating inexplicable errors in the power plants.

Only a few hours before the Mega -Black -out in Spain, Portugal and France, saw employees of the British National Energy System Operator (NESO) unusual fluctuations in the current frequency. This was reported by the newspaper “The Telegraph”. The energy supply there was disturbed twice on Sunday.

Power error in the power plant
First there was a power failure around two in the morning in a gas factory in the Eastern Britain. Then the Viking Link that connects management between Great Britain and Denmark failed for inexplicable reasons.

The frequency changed again around 6 p.m. The cause is not yet known here. The newspaper “The Independent” reported that in both cases there was an interruption of the network. The technicians in the control rooms would have contained them.

Studies walk
The Neso, the authority responsible for the administration of the British Power Grid, announced on Tuesday in the morning that investigations into the unexpected failures are currently being carried out. Such studies are common if there are inexplicable power outages.

“We work closely with our colleagues throughout Europe to understand the cause of the failure of the power network and to offer our support,” said a spokesperson. But: “It’s too early to comment on these events as long as the investigation is still going.”

Errors are not related
The spokesperson also stated that there was currently no evidence that the power failure had anything to do with each other. And even with the mass failures in Spain, Portugal and parts of South France, the British failure does not suffer according to the current state of knowledge.

Mega-Blackout in Europe
Because on Monday there were no more problems with the power supply in Great Britain. In the afternoon, however, there was a mega -blackout in other parts of Europe. These lame parts of the Iberian Peninsula and some regions of France.

“Should never happen again”
On Tuesday the energy supply in Spain and Portugal was restored almost everywhere, in France the failures had only lasted a few minutes. “That should never happen again,” said Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. He promised to hold the private electricity operators responsible.

There was also a large power outages in Austria on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon in Linz in Upper Austria, the electricity had disappeared unexpectedly for a short time. According to Linz AG, the reason for this was a technical error.
