A prescription for 470 euros was the last straw for a 51-year-old from Villach on Friday.
Furious, the man first mistakenly called the tax authorities, but they forwarded him to the health insurer. There, an employee on the phone felt the full force of his frustration.
Health insurance closed
“He insulted her in the worst possible way and made wild threats,” said Lieutenant Colonel Stephan Brozek of the Villach City Police Command. “We took out health insurance right away, but after half an hour it was clear he wasn’t in the building — and there was no other danger.”
After some detective work, the Villacher was reachable by phone a little later. “In the end he came into the waiting room voluntarily, so he probably calmed down again,” says the former WEGA agent. The case is still going to the Klagenfurt prosecutor’s office.
