“For my future I want to live a certain life, professional training is very important for this. Unfortunately, with my disability, it is very difficult for me to find a company that can give me the chance.” With these words, Emilia-A 15-year-old Laakirchener with Down-Is syndrome looking for an internship. She receives help from her mother Katharina Gruber, who (as reported) designed an advertisement and placed social media.
“People are the Oberwahnsinn”
What happened in the following hours “overwhelmed”, as Gruber says: “I thought if ten people share my contribution, I am happy. Now there are 900,” says Emilia’s mother the day after the advertising campaign. “From the morning to evening I was constantly in contact with people who gave us tips, including a youth adviser from Wels who called me. People are really the Oberwahnsinn. I would like to thank everyone who supported us.”
Companies can handle employment
Emilia graduated from the mandatory school in June and then wants to start with a reduced number of hours with a call -off partial qualifications. Companies are legally obliged to hire an employee with a size of 25 employees. However, the companies can “buy for free” with a compensation payment of 335 euros per month and open a mandatory point.
Gruber and her daughter now hope that, in addition to the countless helpful people, companies that have an educational position for Emilia. In any case, with the earlier feedback and especially the medial ultrasound, Emilia has “an insane joy,” says her mother. “She bought four newspapers so that she can show the report to everyone.”
