A garden hut in Freistadt (Upper Austria) opened in flames on Saturday morning. Five birds died in an adjacent cage. The fire could have caused a candle of all places that should serve as a heat source for the animals.
A police patterille caught on Saturday around 6.30 am at Freistadt closed smoking wates in Freistadt. The officials followed the smoke – and saw: a garden hut had set fire to fire. They warned the fire brigade and at the same time tried to fight the flames together with a resident, using a garden hose and fire extinguisher.
But the fire was already permeated from the wooden roof chair and the flames threatened to overlap to the roof of the neighboring building. That is why the emergency services immediately evacuated all residents of the two adjacent houses.
Hut was destroyed
In the meantime, a total of 54 Florianis of the Feuerwehren Freistadt, Lasberg, Grünbach and Tragwein. They were able to give fire around 9.30 am, not much to the left of the hut, but it became a robbery of the flames.
Five birds died
In addition to the burnt cabin, there was a bird, a kind of large cage. At the time of the fire, five animals were housed, all of which died.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway, but the police exclude a technical defect. On the contrary, it is assumed that a design of a candle, which should have served as a heat source for the birds, had activated the fire. Nobody was injured by the fire.
