Christina Osinger from Taggenbrunn (Carinthia) spends a seven -time Mother’s Day. The trainer of dyslexia, nutrition and breathing technician is a proud mother of seven children. “In the meantime I have been a grandmother four times, the fifth grandchild can come on Mother’s Day,” laughs Christina.
Christina grew up like a sole in Kappel an der Drau. “I would have liked brothers and sisters.” Her husband also has ‘only’ a brother. Osinger worked with children when she was still 13 years old. “I have had many children’s lessons and loved the time.” The couple always wanted to have at least four children. It has become seven. The first child arrived at 21 and the second followed quickly. All my children are a very special gifts from God for me. The last two children are twins. “It was an extra gift because I always wanted twins,” says Christina.
Being pregnant was tiring
The children helped her a lot with daily tasks and work. A daughter helped pack: “We did that in the first instance where it was safe.” An older son went back to a small child while Christian breastfed. Being pregnant was tiring. “I always had a lot of water and a big belly. I was happy when the children were there.” The birth of the first child was drastic, enjoyed each other. “My first son was there within two hours, thank goodness I had rather small births.”
Never a helicopter mother
When the first child moved from home, it was more a change for the children. “My son did the training in Graz, we saw each other many times.” The youngest twin daughters are now 21 years old. Only one daughter lives at home. She was never a “helicopter mother,” says Christina. “We do not add our mustard everywhere when they grew up slowly. We are waiting for the children to wonder. Basic confidence should accompany them through life. Our motto was: give the children deep roots as long as they are small and wide wings as soon as they grow up.”
Mother’s Day was never so important
All children try to play the parents. “Mother’s Day was never so important. Children baked, picked flowers, I also reserved whole folders of drawings. Today I get a lot back from the children. They know they had a good house. I am always happy when they are there.”
Lessons also at home
The children all have very different qualities and talents. And to promote her skills in accordance with her, she learned the children in domestic lessons. “It was a very valuable time and our children are now with both feet in life.” The children are all going a great way. “Much are fully professionally self -employed. A child, for example, leads the tea in Klagenfurt.” In the meantime, Christina already has four grandchildren: “The oldest is six years old. A fifth will be on the road in the coming days. Maybe only on Mother’s Day.”
Osinger Clan Focus on camping
When the Osingers travel, there is a lot going on. “We always make camping trips. The children take their partners or friends. Many want to know if we are a youth group. If we say we are a family, people are surprised. 15 to 20 people are quickly together.” The Esinger is suddenly the fixed point on all campsites.
