A tragic accident took place on a lake in the German lower saxony: a family man died on a canoe trip with his two children. The two children could be saved, the police said.
The 40-year-old family man traveled with a private canoe with his two children (two and seven years old) at Lake Gartow in the Lüchow-Danneberg district. For reasons that were not yet known, the boat capsized, after which the three prisoners fell into the water.
The father tried in vain to reverse the canoe. The two children – who happily wore swimming jackets – called for help. A 63-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man heard the screams and swam on the scene of the accident. They could bring the children to the coast. The police did not provide information about whether the children were injured in the lake accident.
The Savior and the Savior could not discover the father. The police, Brandbrigade and the German Life Rescue Society were looking for the man. A few hours after the accident, they then shot him lifeless from the lake.
