The 17-year-old had fallen on the tracks of the U3 Underground Line in the Vienna Westbahnhof around 6 am, but was able to save himself from the incoming metro, a police spokeswoman confirmed Thursday.

It is said of the young person that he fell on the traces out of carelessness and subsequently withdrew into the niche. The metro driver noticed and started an emergency braking.
