Can you keep track of? – An Austrian drinks so many cups of coffee

In this year, more than 1000 cups of the hot drinks have to be drunk per person this year, as a representative study commissioned by Tchibo demonstrated Thursday. A little more than in the previous year, now 2.75 instead of 2.65 cups, are consumed daily. Almost half drink coffee several times a day, ie two to three cups.

The group of 50 to 59-year-olds, which consumes 3.24 cups per day on average, has special fun in coffee. For comparison: the 15 to 29 year olds are on average 2.16. Just like in the previous year, the most drunken is in Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Salzburg.

The pleasure can also be on the road: to drink more than 80 percent of 30 to 39-year-olds “coffee”, and the 15 to 29 year olds are 76.3 percent. Only women and men older than 70, they prefer to take at home or in the coffee house.

The coffee as a ritual
The research showed that coffee is primarily considered pleasure, relaxation and loved ones. According to the taste, the appearance of the coffee, the dishes used or the closed snack is an important criterion for consumers.

No cuts do not want 60 percent of women and men to make while shopping, even if their consumption exceeds their budget. The majority is purchased in the supermarket.

The classics prefer to be drunk in this country: according to the broadcast, the extensive popularity has been won and is now in first place with 35 percent. Espresso and Cappuccino are more drunk, especially among the young target group of 15 to 29-year-olds. Classic filter coffee also increases by ten percent in the age group compared to the previous year. In general there is a small trend in the direction of pure coffee pleasure. Alternatives for vegetable milk only use around eleven percent.
