For almost half a year there have been stricter rules for four -legged friends and their owners in Upper Austria. The “Kroon” takes a first record of the new dog salary law: 67 times have so far been reported for violations of the snout obligation and the telephones of some animal shelters glow.
The lines were set up on December 1: the new salary legislation for dogs provides stricter rules for the owners and mistresses. Large number of conditions in particular apply to the six breeds Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, American Pit Bull Terrier and Tosa Inu – for example, they now have to wear a snout and belt in public.
“We definitely have more questions”
How do the new sections have in practice almost six months after their introduction? “We definitely have more questions from private individuals who want to hand in their dogs,” says Barbara Ogris, head of the Arche Animal Shelter in Wels. This mainly influences the six races mentioned. And it becomes “almost impossible to find a place for the classified dogs that we now have at home”.
The boss of the Linz Animal Shelter, Bettina Hubner, reports in the same way: “The questions have increased because there are no requirements that have not been worried in advance.” Only the Freistadt Animal Shelter does not register any increase in desperate owners in the round of the “Krone”. However, all places are also occupied there.
67 ads for snout obligation
Everyone who now does not have to pass the new rules – owners of large dogs must now pass a daily suitability test – whose animal is classified as a “striking dog” with additional requirements. From the end of March (there are no more recent data), this applies to 341 four -legs -friends. Ultima -Ratio is the official acceptance of the pet – this has been the case nine times so far. Violations of the new snout obligation were displayed 67 times.
Still-Animal Protection Councilor Michael Lindner (Spö)-He will give his office over his office at the beginning of July. “The extra powers that were granted to the municipalities have an effect, such as the possibility of being able to spend dog owners for the future.”
