What sounds like a bad joke of old days, now happened in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria: because a roaming Slovak hurt his feet, the drunken stable stole an e-bike and drove to Hoorn. But the owner caught the thief – a bizarre chase began.
To the north of Horn, the Slovak claimed the walk in a forest area from 8 a.m. He was very tired around 3 p.m. And his legs had hurt him. In Mödring he passed a house where different bicycles were parked for a garden fence. The man did not tackle long, took a non-worked e-bike and drove to the district city of Horn, where he also lives.
Moments later, the owner of the e-bike saw the theft-he drove the car and his companion towards Horn to look for his bike. But his e-bike and the drunk Slovak came to him while the “pilot” of the bike on the Spoorwegweg! The vehicle was immediately turned and the persecution began.
High grass gave too little coverage
The Slovak saw this and fled to the back of a house. There he got rid of his thief in the tall grass and hid behind a parked old vehicle in the not mowed meadow. The observation was immediately informed about the police, the executive officers of the Horn Police inspection rushed – and the alleged thief temporarily arrested at 3.25 pm.
At the police station, the person who lived in Horn claimed that he “only” wanted to go home by bike. Because it was heavy drunk, an alkotest was performed an hour after the arrest. Result: 1.96 per thousand. The Slovake was shown on the free base for theft and also because of the alcohol consumption of the e-bike.
