Dangerous situation Saturday at a gas station in Meggenhofen in the Grieskirchen district of Upper Austria. Two articulated trucks were on fire, a driver was rescued at the last minute.
A fire broke out in a trailer that was parked at the gas station in Meggenhofen, probably due to a technical defect in the refrigeration unit of the trailer. Within a short time, flames spread to the trailer parked next to it and both vehicles quickly went up in flames.
A 46-year-old Hungarian had already slept in one of the two trucks. He was awakened by the other drivers and was able to get out of the vehicle. The man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Wels hospital.
Ten fire brigades with 120 emergency services were involved in the extinguishing work.
