While a new bridge was under construction, the old water mass was destroyed in Böheimkirchen in Lower Austria. Now there is free traveling over the river again – also for cyclists.
The devastating flood in September of the previous year also met the region around Böheimkirchen in the St. Pölten district. The bridge over the Michelbach on the L110 was just in the new building.
The floods caused enormous Lins and partially led the old bridge and damaged the partially newly built bridge. The intersection over the Michelbach then had to be blocked.
“Remarkable achievements”
The new structure could be made up in November and a temporary traffic release was made possible before Christmas. Now the 2.4 million euros at work could finally be completed, including the connecting areas and the cycle path. The municipality participated with another 210,000 euros for the walking and cycling path. “What was achieved here in a short time is remarkable,” thanked the Udo Landbauer Traffic Council of the building council and the road service.
