Unemployment has risen in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) in 1270 people (1.10%) last March compared to the previous month, according to data released this Monday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. In total, in March, there were all over Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa 117,085 unemployedunemployment rates lower than before the pandemic, according to data registered in the Basque employment service Lanbide.
In relation to the March 2021 datathe Basque Autonomous Community accounts for 12,936 (-9.95%) fewer unemployed, according to data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government and the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.
By area, in Biscay the increase in unemployment compared to the previous month was 0.84% (+552 unemployed), while in Alava the increase was 0.87% (171 unemployed), and in Gipuzkoa unemployment has increased by 547 people (+1.79%).
In terms of recruitment, permanent recruitment reached an all-time high in March. Of the 71,669 contracts concluded, 21.49% (15,401) were of this type compared to 9.3% with which 2021 ended when the current labor reform was not approved.
on Navarraregistered unemployment rose by 705 people in March, 2.09%, bringing the total number of unemployed to 34,398.
Over the past twelve months, unemployment in the Autonomous Community has fallen by 8,089 people, 19.04%.
In terms of contracting, 29,175 contracts were signed in Navarra in March, 4,851 more than the previous one (19.94%) and 3,087 more than a year ago (11.83%). Of this total, 24,183 of the contracts signed were temporary, 82.88% and 4,992 permanent, 17.11%.
In the set of Spanish state, the number of unemployed people registered in the offices of the National Employment Office (SEPE) at the end of March decreased by 2,921 compared to the previous month (-0.09%). Recorded unemployment stands at 3,108,763 people, the lowest recorded figure this month since March 2008.
