A terrible Alpine accident leaves on Sunday afternoon in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley: an 81-year-old climber from Germany, accompanied by his brother, crashed over a steep dike and hit a power bed. All help came too late for the man – he died. Explosive: The pair of brothers had previously ignored a seal.
The tragic accident took place in Neustift in the Stubai Valley around 5 pm. According to the police, the 81-year-old German from Mannheim and his brother (77) traveled from the Oberhausalm to Falbeson.
Barrier because of the risk of falling
“In the course of the walk, the two came to a passage in which a short part of the climb was closed for the power bed by means of a closing belt due to an unstable, crumbling dike and the associated risk of falling,” says the researcher.
However, the brothers could not be stopped. “Despite this reflection, both hikers surpassed the attached connection and continued their way.” And that was doomed to the older one!
All help came too late for men
The 81-year-old, who had preceded it, suddenly fell about ten meters above the adjacent steep dike and was opened in the power bed underneath, the researchers continued.
The younger brother immediately set an emergency call. Unfortunately, all the help came too late for the 81-year-old. The alarmed emergency doctor of the rescue helicopter “C1” was only able to determine the death of the accident.
