Bad service – With the catering trade it goes downhill in Austria

Date:

Mr. and Mrs. Austria is increasingly running domestic gastronomy on the Palm. Exciting: Dogs are apparently more tolerated by the guests than children….

No good times for gastronomy in Austria, Germany and Switzerland confirmed a survey that was presented on Wednesday: 35 percent of the respondents in Austria took the service in the past two years – in Germany and Switzerland it was 27 percent. The price-performance ratio (33 percent) was the most irritated, followed by the quality of food and drink (27 percent).

And another annoyance is identified: the tip. 85 percent of respondents want fair wages instead of this form of paying the employees by guests. In the survey, almost half stated that it was often not certain of how much point was confirmed. A third gives a “toll”, even with bad service.

A maximum of 90 cents for tap water
The announcement of the credit card details in the reservation is not very much against the reservation, which is rejected by 84 percent. Time slots and fixed service costs also touch the guests on the stomach. For tap water and a “thief plate” is reluctant to pay, and if so, a maximum of 90 cents for water and 1.12 euros for an extra plate.

According to marketing research published on Wednesday, 65 percent of the respondents in Austria treat themselves home at least once a month than in Germany (54 percent), but less than in Switzerland (69 percent). Six percent in this country goes to a restaurant or host several times a week, a good five percent refuses to visit the gastro.

Guests prefer dogs than children …
“Our study shows that the Austrians would like to go out for dinner, but they want to feel well treated, pay transparent and make a free decision. Complex reimbursement models and impersonal specifications endanger the fragile balance between hospitality and business model,” said the conclusion of marketing agent Thomas Schwabl.

Speaking of hospitality: 55 percent of the respondents had no or no problem if children under the age of 16 were not allowed in the restaurant. At the same time, 59 percent have no problem if dogs are brought to the restaurant or host. It is also striking that the Austrians prefer to reserve more places than they need – than German and Swiss do. There are no country differences in assessing the willingness to pay acquaintances when searching for gastroben: 3 out of 4 respondents have no friends.
