To recognize early warning signals and to develop effective approaches to prevention, the Integration Office of the city of Villach, together with the University of Education, invited teachers for a forum. “We can only combat the challenge and threat of increasing radicalization and polarization. This requires close collaboration between all parts of society,” said Villach’s integration and youth officer Gerda Sandretser.
Experts clarified students
The focus of the forum was aimed at how radical processes occur, how they can be recognized and what preventive measures in school and social context are useful. Countless experts relieved the subject from different perspectives.
Daniela Gabovac, head of the Extremisme Preent Center of Styria,, for example, showed how extremist groups work on social media and why radicalization influences us all.
The religious educator Bassem Asker enlightened Islam and its various forms. The expert opened the strategies of the influencers on the network.
The book presentation and discussion “Allah’s powerful influencer” on June 18 in the Paracelsussaal in the town hall is certainly exciting in this context. The authors Stefan Kaltenbrunner and Clemens Neuhold have acted as young people for their research into Tiktok.
